We have done the same sort of thing for someone who always wanted to sail on the harbour, not sure how comfortable he was but his wife and others were very thankful and it was a pleasure for us on a summers day .

Yes: This is what I should have done. I have a non MMC Diff and larger U bolts. One of the penalties for Non Original parts .

30 - 50,000 miles, if at all, is modern diff oil change interval. Have you checked there is even a drain plug? 80w90 hypoid is the usual stuff.

Not an E class hybrid but I have a C350e hybrid. 211 hp petrol engine plus 80 hp electric motor. Put yout foot down and they both work together . Makes me smile but for different reasons (and not quite as much) to the Morgan.....
