My Aeromax is currently at my local body shop to get a new tail window bonded
I lost the first tail window in August this summer and was told the original glue couldn t cope with extreme temperature.
The window was reglued by the dealer using MMC supplied duo adhesive
A week later the second window felt as well. I got it fixed by my local body shop. Their opinion was that duo components adhesive weren t appropriate. They used a glass primer and a metal primer, then normal windscreen glue, and baked the window in an paint oven for a few hours.
In November, the tail window bonded by the MMC duo component adhesive shown a bubble forming between the window and the hinge pad
In January, the said window exploded in thousands of pieces...
I have been delivered new windows under warranty and asked my body shop not to use the MMC adhesive as it seems this created the issue
My dealer told me that that new glasses were under design and should adress the problem.
These should be ready sometimes in spring, with the new heater fan box and the engine air filter
The car is a delight to drive, but the various relaibility issueS are REALLY annoying.
Since I had the car, 14 months ago or so, an oil hose broke, the ignition connexion worked loose, the side windows opened under heavy rain, the rear light clusters stopped working under rain, the cruise control doesn t work, the door speakers don t work any more, the tyre pressure system has a mind of its own, the battery becomes flat in three days when the car is parked, the tail windows open under rain, the steering pump leaked, the exhaust brackets broke, the heating fan is very noisy, the two tail windows flew over, a tail window broke and I now suspect a rear caliper leaks....
All this has been taken care off under warranty, but somehow waste the experience. For 100 grands a car, it isn t satisfactory
