Yellow lights 7
Image Details

Description
After seeing the yellow headlights on the plus eight at Geneva, I had a go at doing it to my 7.

Yellow tinted film from a craft shop, wetted and stretched on, heat from the lights made it stick.

Reminds me of the yellow lacquer you used to be able to buy in the 70/80s. Going to Europe: paint your lights yellow and wash it off when you get home.

I remember that too Deno, way up north, it looked quite exotic to have yellow lights, or even a GB sticker.

The effect looks perfect, but I suspect my modification wouldn’t survive a shower of rain. The film I used is like the yellow, quality street wrapper and it softens when wet. There’s probably the real deal out there, but since I don’t use the 7 in the rain, it doesn’t really matter.

We use our fog lights all the time as the Roadster is low and people don’t see us.

I wonder also - is there a good all weather yellow film available?

I had used a yellow lacquer for the purpose which you can buy on eBay. I did the headlamp of my BMW 1977 Cafe Racer. If more details are required I shall try to find the empty bottle in my garage.

The lacquer is still available. I also have a bottle.

Might try that on my seven, not sure of the legality over here, used to see some fro er French imports driving around with yellow lights so maybe it is ok.

Morgan headlights as standard are pretty poor. Why make them worse?
Even the French gave up yellow headlights years ago. (Unless of course you are planning to run in the GT classes at Le Mans!)
To each his own.
