Description
A Luta Continua,
As requested, further progress report. The horrible dual mass flywheel has been removed from the Ecoboost (it weighed 10lbs more than the single mass item on the Plus 4 GDI). A slightly upgraded MX5 clutch will be fitted (ok with 240 ft lbs of torque -- which is about all the latest iteration of the five speed Mazda box can take anyway) with the light flywheel and new bolts. The crate engine came with no spigot bearing installed!
The crate Ecoboost has a 2" deeper sump to accomodate its balancer shaft setup. This may well be deleted later. The offside of the Ecoboost needs a different engine mount bracket because of the turbo and turbo oil drain tube (see pic). The Mr Morgan fabricated bracket is fine on the nearside. As I write brilliant young men are beavering away to modify the loom to interface with the Morgan "body control" ecu and other young men, by candlelight, are reprogramming the original ecu to cope with a boosted engine......I hope. At the end, if there IS an end, to all this a kit will be offered.

With your methodical, solid engineering approach I'm sure you'll get it to fit, eventually thumbs
