In Wales with Swanmog

We ended up in Wales again thanks to SwanMog based this time in Barmouth. Like FolkMog the weather was variable.

First off we walked to the summit of Snowdon in the clouds & rain but that Sat afternoon at Portmerion was fine.

We toured around the Snowdonia national park & across to Anglesey following Mr Telford's fabulous road (A5) & his bridge on the Sunday. What an engineer.

The drive home on the Monday was definitely hood up territory if you had one.
Another 900 miles of fun.

Thanks to organisers for the great event.

Yes Rob we booked this before the opening came up with FolkMog. That makes 3 visits to the land of my father this year.

I booked the hotel back in February and it seemed a long haul before the actual event. A few people dropping out and in along the way, but managed to keep the number of cars at 10 which took up all of the hotel except for one room. However, we noticed a dodgy character on the train up to Snowdon

I had passed Portmeirion village a number of times and never visited, It is certainly worth the visit and especially if the sun is out. For us oldies it was time to reminisce and discuss our memories of the 'Prisoner' and see if any of us had a better understanding, we then checked Amazon for the price of a boxed set.

Home bound weather tested the hood (failed with a few drips) and I can only have admiration for John and Janet (not John and Janice) driving home in their Speedster.

I think it's Patrick McGoohan, last time we were there I commented to a senior staff member that as they has doubtless spent a lot on the bronze bust and proper marble base they ought to have least used a bronze or stainless bolt to fix it as the mild steel one will corrode & stain the base as it gets the local salty sea breeze

I was obviously wasting my time, again !

So, does anyone understand it? I loved it at the time, but never understood it......

If you stay as a guest, there is a TV channel that just plays Prisoner episodes on a loop, now looks very dated, odd, & no I don't understand it

But the connection drags in loads of visitors & they even have an annual re-enactment weekend
