Roads less travelled 7

As I mentioned in reply to Howard`s question of "do you still enjoy driving your toy" that those who`s lives have been impacted by the fall out from social media promoted tourism and others, are not only those who live in London or Edinburgh and the likes of villages towns and cities well used to tourism, but the once VERY quiet places where sheep herders and crofters of all sorts lived much the same way undisturbed for generations and who now have to consider TRAFFIC in ways they never ever imagined.... I have no doubt disturbed the likes of goat herders in Spain, so I have played my part in the process of tourist evolution too...

I have typed that TIME may be of the essence when deciding to fire up the old Mog and head out in search of a bit of uncongested Tarmac, but the same may now be true for those herding their animals on the once quiet roads, in that they may now have to be selective when to engage in processes that in the past could be far less restrictive relative to time...???

As ever I have captured a pic or two over the years... (-:

It doesn't stop farmers driving tractors and trailers on busy roads, when they could do it before the cock crows.

There was one on the A38 last Thursday afternoon, and it was an accident waiting to happen.

And don't get me started on the sea of mud over the road by every gate to a field........... winter is coming

Sooooperb vid Graham, thanks for posting it. I suppose the sheep may have left a trail of something to be considered when cornering over the next mile or two... no knee down antics for the bikers in the vid then.. smile The sheep dogs were the stars for me. smile

Nice shots George, the Highland cattle one's could have been taken on nearby Dartmoor there are quite a lot up there now.
However we don't get that level of sunshine needed for the goats wink

Exactly.

I know a farmer really well, and mention it when I can...…..which means every time I see him.

When his combine burnt out a few years ago, the only one available was near Penzance...…..

So the dealer drove it all the way up the A30 and A303 to Wiltshire in August...… Haha. Glad I wasn't behind that.

Now that really would have been a pain to drive and follow.

It was on a whole new level when I was learning to drive back in Norfolk, come sugar beet time the roads were like sheet mud for yards and yards around the field entrances and made for some interesting times. The only time I have seen similar was when working on one of our radio stations near Driffield on the Bridlington road (Burton Fleming) absolute quagmire.
