Forrestburn track day

I took these pics at a non-timed track day on the hill climb circuit at the Forrestburn motor sport complex run by the other MSCC, Monklands Sporting Car Club.. (-: The weather was mostly dry but one heavy shower did pass through..

I know where you were standing for most of those. Thanks for sharing.

Forrestburn has it's own climate...... changeable weather keeps you on your toes though ....have driven that track in anger a time or two ..... going through the right hander in the fourth pic at speed with the car going light over the Crest and that stone wall waiting to collect you certainly focusses the mind!! smile

Ooh, that looks good fun and with relatively safe, squashy edges.

Ewn ....it's a great track that favours non-aero cars ..... twisty and with few places you can get your aero to work ..... you can mostly go off without hitting anything vertical (although the grass is bumpy and hides rocks in places so it's best not ).....but there are a number of bits where you don't want to go off at all !! ....has a great story behind it involving a failed full international GP circuit planned ....on a sunny weekend it's a hoot..... on a cold one with no shelter from the horizontal rain it's not smile

That looks similar to some of the 1920 Shelsley Walsh specials e.g. GN spider

That's what Jays should be doing with his Austin 7 !!!!

Not quite as chisel-nosed as the Spiders but similarly minimalistic ....lovely little monoposto A7 ..... Colin also drives a steel cranked MG (PA I think ) that revs like mad .... he's an impressive car pedaller!

Thanks for posting the additional pics K, great stuff. As for your experience on track of getting light over the crest on approach to the wall, I have a less than clear pic of the yellow MR2(?) doing just that, if I ever get round to finding my way to posting pics in thread..!

Graham, I note you know your way around Forrestburn.. (-: Most of my visits have been to take pics of PCT`s, though lugging my camera up those hills is getting harder with every passing season.. (-:
