Rattray and Troup 4/4 80th

The weekend so far, Rattray Head lighthouse at low tide.

Cairnbulg harbour’s unique bollards, Consolidated Pneumatics had a factory here producing air powered jack hammers, these handles must have been ‘ liberated’ from the stores.

Further on, Troup head Gannet colony, a spectacular cliff top walk.

Amazing pictures Ewan thank you.

I recently read the book on the trials of the Stevenson brothers building the lighthouses around the Scottish coastline, a good but very sobering read.

Great photos Ewan.

Stunning pics - thanks thumbs

Regarding re-purposed mooring bollards these take some beating in Valetta harbour.

Great photos again ewn, unfortunately I was working yesterday but things are looking promising today for s trip out in the sunshine.

I hope I'm wrong, but there can't be many more weekends like this weatherwise up here!!

Too right chaps, get out there quick, it’s forecasted to cool right down in a week. Here a great mapping resource I’ve found, you can zoom right down to a clump of grass, ideal for finding forgotten tracks etc.

Richard, I wish I’d spotted that cannon when I visited Valletta, went there last year on a cruise and really enjoyed the place, I’d definitely go back for a longer stay.

Keith, if you fancy a go at low tide rocks, I’d recommend taking a sturdy pole to steady yourself, some bits are incredibly slippery, we didn’t and it’s deadly dangerous, break a leg there and rescue would only have an hour or two at best to get you.
