MCCDC Badge

Description
The badge in question is the Washington DC Morgan car clubs 25th and Morgan Motors 75th. Badge is 24 out of, I'm told, 100.

I got a blank cheque offer... All badges came off the car that night and never went back.

Very swish.

Although I don't have anything as special as that, I hadn't thought about badge theft.

I like seeing others and displaying my Car Badges, but then I do not have any that costly or valuable to worry about spend .
Perhaps the Indian copyist could offer a 'Paste' version of yours to display allowing the original to stay in the safe? hide

To be honest, badges wreak the engine cooling, and while I don't think I know any members of the DC club, I'm pretty sure my American friends would not approve of the market being flooded with replicas. Let's face it, the Indian would not stop with mine.

One of these days (and I've only been saying it for 25+ years) I'll get round to making a display board. I've bought quite a few over the years, certainly too many to all go on a car.

Hello, Martyn.

Now you know at least one member of the DC club -- I'm Pat MacAuley, secretary of MCCDC. Thank you for your consideration in not helping these vendors who are selling cheap replicas. I have just contacted one of these vendors, based in New Delhi, who is selling on Ebay a half-decent replica of our club badge for $50. I've asked him to remove it within 24 hours before I file a grievance with Ebay.

MCCDC will sell badges and regalia to non-members, unless we are nearly out-of-stock. Some Morgan dealers, such as Melvyn Rutter have bought MCCDC badges and legitimately re-sold them in England, which is fine.

I took mine off at the start of the year, just for a change really. Badge theft is always a risk, but probably more so at a Morgan event. Before you throw your hands in the air, MG events sometimes resulted in theft of parts or even sometimes a car.
Somebody lost a BGTV8 wheel at a local event once in the general car park. Nobody challenged the person jacking the car up and removing the wheel.

Lovely badge by the way.

This is a really good way to show stuff. At events it adds an extra dimension for the visitors and is a really good talking point. smile

When I get round to it, the board is only ever intended for home display. I'm not making a portable easily stolen item worth several £100 that accompanies the car.

I do have a lightweight board with the three wheeler details on it, but that cost me about £5 to make and isn't the sort of thing the light fingered fraternity go for.

Well, ( and I'm being provocative here) what does one want- a mobile museum display or a car that goes quickly and doesn't overheat?
Me, if I wanted badges, I'd join the Amreican Marine Corps ( and I've aleady been there with its British equivalent so it holds little attraction for me)
