Shuttleworth Collection
Visiting Allon White involved an 06:30 start yesterday so after dropping off Belle I did my usual & sped off to the Shuttleworth collection for a fortifying bacon bap, tea and a tour. This time I even did the garden. Well worth a go if you have time & very close to Sandy on the A1.

Thank you for posting these. Missed my visit to Shuttleworth this year as AW needed my car for 2 days and I had stuff to do at home.

Agreed - just down the road from me so go a few times a year. Went a week ago with the parents and the house was open too.

Great place to visit Shuttleworth & the Swiss Garden, we went in May but unfortunately it was very windy and bounced it down with rain, so ended up confined to the Hangars

Thanks for the pictures John, that Comet is one of my all time favourite aircraft, just a beautiful shape.

And it is the Comet that won the race to Oz. They also have Bleriot that is the oldest flying aeroplane and engine plus the oldest flying British plane

I think the late Sept is the best show when if the wind is still enough they fly those pre WW1 planes, just magic !!

Went there for first time a couple months ago, an amazing place. It was mid week and a roasting hot blue sky day and we got a wonderful flying display by the Spitfire. Magic! It was flying in formation for a while with the white single engined 1930s racer similar to the red comet. Loads of people flying in for a coffee and even an autogyro. Yes the Swiss garden is also worth a visit.

It could have been the Mew Gull in formation with the Spitfire, like the Comet another record breaking aircraft.
