Orkney
![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/26/IMG_20220626_083958__01__01.jpg) Waiting for the ferry, hood up incase things got a little rough, needn't have worried, flat calm and wall to wall sunshine for the entire one hour crossing. I'll post more pics if this is successful. Typical, I couldn't get the pic to attach, now it's there twice 🤣

Our ferry arriving at Gills bay ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/26/IMG_20220626_084821.jpg) Proof that it was a smooth crossing! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/26/IMG_20220626_094028.jpg) And Hoxa beach, our first stop, picnic lunch on the beach. Unbelievable weather for Orkney. Let's hope it lasts! Good b&b in Kirkwall as well. The owner has requested a spin in the Morgan, coolest car he's ever had in the car park he said 👍 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/26/IMG_20220626_111230.jpg)

Another day of typical Orkney weather today 😁 First up St Magnus cathedral ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/IMG_20220627_153312.jpg) And an alternative view of the Italian chapel, sure you all know what the other end looks like. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/IMG_20220627_144133.jpg) A trip East to Mull Head visitor centre and a 3½ mile clifftop hike with some spectacular views and rock formations. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/IMG_20220627_114638.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/IMG_20220627_113452.jpg) Dave, a work colleague told me about this. When I asked Mrs D last night what to see today she suggested we go and see "Dave's hole" so here it is. Otherwise known as The Gloup. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/IMG_20220627_111241.jpg) And a wee renovation project just off Inganess beach. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/27/IMG_20220627_095601.jpg)

Great pictures Gordon, thanks for sharing them.
One year we were visiting they had Songs of Praise held in St Magnus and the security was as tight as anything I ever saw in Northern Ireland back in the bad old days.
Fabulous building though.
