Citroens in Amsterdam

Had a week in Amsterdam recently, what a lovely civilised place it is. Bicycles have priority over cars and cycling is far quicker and more convenient, we must have done hundreds of miles.
That’s not to say there aren't some nice cars, lots of old cars in daily use and very good condition. We did see one Morgan, you guessed it, parked at T pub in the middle of nowhere on the way to Zan Shans windmills

Classic Citroens, especially the DS/ID, have always been very popular in The Netherlands ,not the least in our beautiful Amsterdam with several DS/ID specialists.😍

I had an old ID20 named "the barge" for a while. I was impressed how the suspension design accomodated modest seal wear as the pump continuously compensated for leakage maintaining ride height.

I remember in the early eighties, my dad wanted to buy the huge estate car they did, (I have two sisters and a brother), it had a double row of back seats and rare at the time, a Diesel engine. He chickened out and bought the Mercedes estate instead, the Citroen looked so much more modern.
