That looks fantastic. I'd love to live by one of those alpine lakes - sailing in the summer, skiing in the winter. Mountain roads to drive in the Morgan. Fresh mountain air, beautiful scenery. Sigh. Perhaps when I retire.

Great. I am currently in Cinisello Balsimo so not so far away. On a good day you can see the alps from the site.

Now it looks like it will pee down again this evening in fact we have a thunder storm over Milan but you could see the alps really clearly

Giles. Stick with France but in the south. The roads are much better than in Italy and the cost of living is much less. I would miss the lake but I also like sailing on the sea. Skiing for me - no thanks, but I don't mind a bit of snow.

Vitruvius. The next time Giorgio Clooney drops is I will suggest it to him. His friend Billy Joel is a Guzzi enthusiast. He was here a couple of years back and has since opened his own bike shop "20th Century Cycles"

The way the French presidential elections look I'm not sure how long that'll be true. It looks like a guy with no ability at arithmetic is about to end up in the Elysée. If he does, he's going to spend even more money that the country doesn't have, and anybody who works hard and earns a bit is going to get properly punished for it.
