Description
As I posted earlier I had tracked down a strange knock to loose rear spring covers.
Today being a slow home office day (most of Europe being on holiday) I clawed back some work life balance & fixed those plus I added some neoprene section to the doors to I hope stop water ingress & reduce draughts with the hood up.

I used a 10mm x 6 mm self adhesive p section neoprene from Seals + Direct Ltd (usual disclaimer etc). I bought 3 m which left c 1/2 m over. cost £9.60.

Now I need to drive it in the rain again to test it.

You can also see the charger lead for the battery but not the inline fuse which is behind the aluminium plate.

Thanks I saw it on Dave W's car & decided to give it a go.
I am going to wash the car with the hood up Thursday to review the filth from driving to Devon at the weekend so I will give it a test drive.

You want MORE John??

Thanks for meeting up with me in Paignton and driving back on Sunday John. It was the only day of the whole 22 days that my Personal Sunshine Bubble let me down.

We must have both received a real pasting that day. I did.

Eight Deepish full width Flooded Roads on my route to Portland with the deepest having no one before me to show the way/depth.

The Mog kept dry inside throughout the whole debacle. The Clear Water ones were not bad but two Brown Stuff ones going right over the cab is no fun (hood up of course)

It was the issue of how fast to go to prevent stalling and how to keep the Bow Wash low- AHRRRRRAAAAAAG.

Also, some Sods Law - Who had one of his windscreen washers pack up after having them serviced? and it would be the drivers side.

Only a little to test it. I can tell you over 60 mph a lot of water was coming in epsecially in the windy exposed areas like Salisbury plain. Not a problem I have had before but then I haven't driven for 6 hrs in a monsoon before.

I had only one full flood but plenty of standing water.

Lets hope my Jonah skill set doesn't affect the Waddesson weather.

The upside is it got me tinkering.

That's an excellent picture of the end of the spring that I found was the cause of the squeak on mine. I spray grease them every year and hadn't thought about that bit. Removed the covers, greased them and squeak cured.

Yep I took the opportunity to spray them with first pentrating oil and then moly grease. You can see that in fact they wre / are rusting.
