Description

I think this has been around before but I had not seen photos of the tyres in action. All sounds a good idea but would you really trust your p&j to a set of these? scared

Quote from the blurb.....
Michelin Tires... Absolutely SCARY looking... Look for 'em in August.
These tires are made in South Carolina , USA .
SEE THROUGH TIRES
Radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...
These are actual pictures taken at the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

They look like something my grandson puts on his Lego cars. As you say .... real scared stuff.

I would buy these the next time I needed to replace my summer wheels, depending on the price of course. New cool technologies always start off at a stupid price point. They look like they could handle Michigan's giant potholes quite well though.

I'm sure there's some video on YouTube of these things in action.

Very interesting and like Charlie said, certainly something I would consider if the price point was comparable to regular tyres.

When people started changing from wire wheels to alloys or steel rims, it all went downhill...
