How can you bear to wait weeks, knowing it's there ? Or does it take weeks for the Oz authorities to check there's nothing dangerous about it (like an english apple in the glovebox for example).

Don't forget the body frame needs fumigating... laugh2

Seriously, that's a cracking shade of blue. Look forward to more photos when you get the car home thumbs

Nice blue and great choice of hood etc to go with it. Health to enjoy.

Very nice indeed. Where in Aus is it destined?

When mine came to WA from Queensland I thought a bag of bits would be delivered not a full car after WA quarantine had had their say!

Don't forget Australia has some longish distances. Cairns to Perth is about 6000 km, and minimum 7 days to drive it. I'm sure Mr M doesn't live that far from the dealer but it is also worth mentioning that every one of the 7 States has a separate registration system. No quarantine or inspection would be needed because it is a new car (actually it may have had a quarantine inspection done at Customs clearance). What could take time is getting the Australian Compliance plate organised and whilst a Melbourne dealer could get Victorian State registration fairly quickly organising out of State registration probably takes some time. Then, of course, there is the normal dealer pre-delivery.

Congratulations Mr M. "It is indeed a lovely blue sir!"

What part of Oz do you live in?

Lovely blue - what is it? Looks almost like Porsche Maritime Blue?

The car will be ready for delivery quite soon so the wait is actually due to having a few work and other commitments delaying our trip….it is indeed frustrating but unavoidable. We have the photos to keep us company for now. My wife was quite amused as I tracked the ship via the web while the car was being transported to Oz, with a change of ship in Singapore.

Living in the ACT we will drive the car home via the scenic route on a temporary Victorian permit and then arrange registration here. Our local registration authorities don’t recognise the credentials of dealers in other states so even though it’s a new car we have to get a full road worthy inspection done before it can be registered. Customs, quarantine and Australian Compliance are all done in Melbourne and have been completed quite quickly.

Thanks for the positive comments on the colour, although the photos don’t give a true indication of what it’s like in person. Our car really stood out in the Morgan factory when we visited. I like blue and wanted something different and bright. Simon is almost correct, it is indeed a Porsche colour however it’s been borrowed from the limited edition Porsche 997 Speedster and is called “Pure Blue” or “Pur Blau”. We saw the Speedster in this colour at the Paris Motor Show in 2010 and really liked it. Some paint samples were done here and in the UK to make sure the colour was what we wanted.

Morgan Cars Australia have been very helpful and patient during the purchasing process as there are so many options to choose from (and I like options), and everybody at the Morgan factory were fantastic too...made us feel very welcome during our visit. Even scored a ride in a 3-wheeler....
