We made a little run to Livigno today, a 360km round trip. Livigno is a duty free zone near the Swiss border. It is a nice place but very touristic and has a huge number of duty free shops. We brought back 2 bottles of Scotch and a pack of cigarettes plus a new handbag for Alis, oh and a tank full of petrol at €1.11 a litre. You pass through a customs post on the exit and they are pretty strict on the limits of what you can take out.

This photo is at the top of Passo del Foscagno (2,291 metres) on the way in just after the customs post. The temperature would have been about 12 degrees (June???). We also spotted a number of marmots near the road.

The car ran beautifully and we arrived home after 7:00 tired but still smiling.
