She 9.5 Traveller (to give the full title) 1973.31 feet.
(Sparkman & Stephens design) Partly restored and ongoing as these things are. Currently doing the internals etc and actually enjoying the improvements and changes to the look. boat

Is there an ugly boat from Sparkman & Stephens ? I don't think so. I've never sailed a 9.5 traveller, but the slightly more racy SHE 31 I have, & she was a cracking boat. Almost as pretty as a Contessa 32........OK I admit I'm biased, but I did use to work for Contessa Yachts as a student.

I am the first to say i'm no expert in yacht design, but I find Sparkman & Stephens designs to be very elegant and purposeful.

Your Traveler looks to be both of those things. It looks like it will be very spacious for such an elegant, sporty looking yacht.

1973 !.....must be something about boats of that era. Great looking, but very practical, like my 'Skipper'.

Pandy,

The traveller is just the same as the 31. The difference is in the main cabin height. It's 6-1' in places. Otherwise there's litle difference. Cuts through the water like a racer and has suprisingly competitive lines etc.

NorthernMorgan,

My last yacht, a Shipman was also an early 1970s model - pure co-incidence but they definately had a look of that era.

Ah how I would love to have a full height cabin. I really think that at my age I need a cabin I can stand up in to pull my pants on innocent

We have a 24 footer Malbec 240 which is a joy to sail but somewhat impactical for an overnight stay. At least I can sail it by myself or with swmbo without problems.

Yes I sail quite a bit on my own and always have. It's a great way to chill. Send us over some of your weather!!!
