Description
So, thanks to the good offices of Williams Morgan (for 4/4 Sport), Waldegrave Estates (battered garage for revamp just 60 yards from home) and SWMBO swmbo (loan at better than B0fE base rate wine), I have my Morgan on its way. The deal will be completed on 13 July; the car is mine on 13 July BUT my 50th is not until 18 August - and I am not allowed it until the due date.
Oh. The. Bloody. Agony. cuckoo

You need a business case, to ensure that you can use the car between 13th July and 18th August, so that you get the most out of your and Mrs WR's investment.
That's a month of insurance for no reason, a month of car tax and think of all the sunny days she will miss on roof down trips. You know it makes sense.
Good luck.

Could the period between the 13th July and 18th August not be used for Pre-Birthday testing - imagine finiding a fault on your Birthday - best be safe I say and give it a proper shake down first smile

Enjoy!

..which i why I love Talk Morgan!

Ww - the Business case would hold more water if the Met Office could just lie for once : forecasting more rain for rest of July spoils the "top down sunny days" argument BUT Richard - the pre birthday test drives idea is pure genius (you'll note the use of the plural). Pandy, great idea, but swmbo has my BC safely locked away!

Will try to post a "test drive" photo or two after the 13th.

I purchased the twin of your car from Henry in July 2009 and had to wait a fortnight for delivery - it puts waiting on your first offspring into context, there is just something very special about these cars.

I had thought about suggesting you volunteered to do the shopping runs for the intervening period but realised the folly of that !!

Enjoy your miles waiting woohoo and welcome.

Looking at the size of the garage I would suggest that you need plenty of practice trying to reverse and drive into the garage to see which works best....just explain that the 'turning circle of a Morgan is VERY large and takes around 10 miles to perform the manouver effectively. drive

Speaking as a doctor, I would be happy to write you a prescription from the "TM well man clinic" advising regular doses of Morgan, taken prophylactically before your birthday. It is not wise to wait until 50 for essential treatment aimed at keeping you alive and in good health.
