The premise is that they are driving on 1930's roads using a 1935 road map so it really had to be the original model.

If they had been doing a European Grand Tour then perhaps one of the more corpulent variants might have been appropriate; but for the single track, twisty UK country lanes of this programme the nimble 4/4 is surely the obvious choice?
