My Brooklands steering wheel gets what I would call a harmonic rattle at about 2900 rpm on a balanced throttle. A finger pushed on the wheel centre stops it, but it is a medium hard push. Does anyone else get this and if so have you solved it?
My current action is putting layers of a fairly stiff foam down the wheel centre so that the column will push against the foam and stop the rattle from the rear. Building up the layers slowly and all the time ensuring the clip on action is not overridden for obvious safety reasons. Reduced the rattle but not fully solved. Its an annoying rattle compared to rest of the rattles and noises the car makes!
