Very reluctantly due to my health I’m selling my long owned and modified 4/4 that I’ve had since 1983. 99729 recorded miles, perhaps 1000 missing due to speedo problems over my ownership.

The photos were taken in October 2010 for the insurance, and the car has been SORN since May of that year. Front wings are road weight fibreglass and the rears are alloy, as is the rear part of the body.

(The front air dam was removed for an MOT - just bolts on)

Currently fitted with later rostyles wheels, there are also 5 widened VW wheels (same PCD) as well as the original wheels. The wings are extended little to cover 195 section tyres. The original seats, two engines for robbing or rebuild and the original spare short axle (a correct 7HA) is also included. I would suggest paying to have this axle rebuilt with new brake hubs etc and either selling it or keeping it as a true spare as they are not common as a spare. Current axle has done about 10000 miles.

Rebuilt on new chassis in 1989 and original registration number recovered (bought as YOX292T - but is a 1972 car - had been exported to Jersey and registered there as J17888).

It has a 1840cc crossflow (might be 1828 – I didn’t build the engine) twin 45 delortos, camber plates, panhard rod, antitramp bars, carbon fibre seats, five point harnesses and fair few other tweaked bits including a geared starter motor. Cylinder head fitted with hardened exhaust valve seats so ok with unleaded petrol. The firm that fitted the seats (Vulcan) said the head looked like the work of Mass Racing - ie a very expensive one.

The bad news is there are two known faults, a hydraulic leak in the brakes and a possible lubrication problem with the engine. The latter may be not be a problem at all, and may be a result of modern oils not having ZDDP. Mobil 1 Racing does have it and I was going to do an oil change with it. Oil has been bought, and will accompany the car. You can also buy the additive from Frost and others. The cam (a Kent 234) was replaced and my judgement is the subsequent slight wear should not yet have worn the replacement cam excessively.
Car will therefore need to be trailed away, and due to the spare axle, engines, wheels, seats etc included something like a Transit van will be needed as a tow vehicle.

Price circa £10500 and contact martyn@slidingpillar.co.uk for more details including the last submitted insurance modification sheet. My location is St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Please note, no phone number as I am completely deaf.

The three wheeler is NOT for sale!

Very sad that you have to sell Woodstock.
There is a photo of you two at Prescott in one of the Morgan books (pretty sure it was Prescott).
Unfortunately, I don't have the space. Good luck with the sale.

Regards,

It's worth 10k just to stick in the garage.
I hope someone from TM buys is so that we can keep up with its progress.

And it's now no longer for sale. An offer has been made and accepted.

TM adverts do seem to work!

Graham - if you know which book we're in, let me know as I'll probably buy a copy.

Will try to find it Martyn. It's in the Morgan book collection on the bookshelf and you know how extensive that can get! grin2

Has Woodstock gone to another TM'er?

I knew the question of who has bought it would arise, but I think politeness says I don't answer and await the buyers information.

Sorry.

Found:

"Morgan" by Rowan Isaac, Osprey Classic Marques

Page 7/8 - 8 being the 'Contents page'

"Speed trials and hill climbing can be a relatively inexpensive way of getting into motorsport. Here at the 1993 Bugatti Owners' Club meet at Prescott in Gloucestershire Martyn Culling puts his 4/4 to the test."

Sure looks like Woodstock. On the exit from Esses, before all the ARMCO went up on the inside of the corner... Photographer is looking down towards Ettores from the pathway near the exit from Esses.

Cheers,

Many thanks, book is out of print and I've never before bought a second hand book without seeing the condition of it.

Most of my second hand library is technical as I'm prone to buying books on early motoring and radio. Never spent much money, indeed some of the radio library was obtained from dumpster diving after an ignorant boss threw out some 1930s radio books.
