would anyone be able to recommend a good car wax and polish?

The condition of my paint is not bad but after 3 years it looks like it requires a pick me up.

Sounds like a reply for me - but I'm afraid I'll have to leave my reply until I'm not the wrong side of a bottle of Merlot! (Part of my business is vehicle detailing so I know rather a lot, in fact, too much, about car care!)

I've always wondered if I could smell a faint whif of Merlot when you detailed my car to within an inch of it's life!

I've decided to concoct a 'detailing guide' that will become a sticky and hopefully answer many questions before they're asked, so bear with me, it'll be on the site soon.

Yep sorry guys but I've been bloody busy lately combined with picking up some nasty lurgy from somewhere. I'll get on to the 'detailing guide' ASAP, probably toward the end of the week.

He may be slow at writing the guide BUT his work is pretty amazing

This is my Turbo that Ben detailed... pictures honestly don't do it justice; probably the best wet shine I've seen!

Hi Simon
What polish/wax does Ben use? Certainly looks good.

Looking forward to going home and seeing my car looking spick and span and shiny....

I guess I'll wade in and answer this for Simon!

I generally use Meguiar's products as I cut my teeth with them and still think they offer the best results available for the money. However I will use anything that performs if I like it.

Simon's 996 above was prepared (after washing and claying) with Poorboy's SSR2.5 (to remove swirls), then Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze (a finer polish to enhance gloss), Clearkote Red Moose Machine Glaze (to increase gloss some more and add some wetness), then sealed with Poorboy's EX with Carnauba Sealant before being waxed with Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

As for the Zymol/Swissol debate - well - it's being going on for years and Zymol have some very die hard fans. I think the results their products create are excellent, however, equally impressive results can be obtained for much less money IMO.

Any other recommendations for detailers. I have used Miracle in the past, but always willing to try someone new.

Had it Zymoled for St. Trop Boshly, mine will be au naturel or something like that...

Can you get Ben to post his coordinates so that we can contact him for his services. I note that he uses Meguiars, how does he think that this compares with Zymol

I need my car detailed before it goes on sale (soon), but it appears that Ben has succumbed to a serious case of the lurgy? I hope it's nothing too serious, can you please check him for us before you disappear on holiday. Thanks.

Cheers

My PC blew up and took the nearly completed guide with it.

I'm away for a week from Saturday so will try and whip one up again when I get back.

If we got enough interest (say 10+ people), I could arrange a detailing clinic somewhere?
