Land Rover have released a micro-site for their LXR concept hybrid vehicle. Link to the web site.

From a size perspective, this model will fit in between the Freelander and the current Range Rover Sport.

I think it looks like the Freelander but made to look more modern; however, the design aside, I like that Land Rover are pushing toward hybrid technology.

It looks good, and drew a lot of attention at Geneva this week, but when I took a closer look I just cannot seem them making it as is. Even with these super-slim seats there's nowhere near enough room in the boot and its really quite small (smaller than a Freelander). Put proper seats in it and the rear seat passengers would surely be very cramped.

No, as far as I could see LR will need to make it bigger, heavier and ultimately less exciting.

I saw it at Geneva too. I guess it's another Marmite car as it just looks like a Range Rover that has had something very heavy dropped onto it for me..

I doubt it will come to market with half the features they have shown on this concept; however, it is nice to see them considering a Hybrid drve systems.

IMHO, LR needs one of these if they expect to stay in business and not be legislated/guilted out of business.
