I use my wife's old electric Jones sewing machine and have made a couple of tonneau covers, straps for stowing the hood etc although the side screen bag is from Morgan. Like Rocket Man, I find it rather enjoyable!

I made my bags(plural)from vinyl , closed with velco and Morgan sew on badges. The bags look like envelopes. I decided on a bag for each sidescreen a) to stop rubbing and b)so they are easier to manipiulate into the slot behind the seats -= mine is a sport model with a handy space where the spare wheel should go. They will also go behind the seats - one behind each or together on the rack if needed. Used a special strong sewing machine needle with thickish cotton for the sewing. EVEN MEN CAN MULTITASK!!!!

The sidescreen has its uses you know. Driving on the M25 on Saturday without sidescreens and my shirt nearly blew off. My son, whose 14, looked like a wreck by the end of the journey. Coming back with the sidescreens on we had a lovely drive, shielded from the turbulence but still enjoying the open top experience. Blasting around country lanes should be done without sidescreens, though.

I've finally decided to go for Phil's idea of two separate bags. I think that this will take up less space in the end and offer more protection. I'm getting them made up at a local car trimmers and he is fitting a long top zip for access.

I don't seem to be stowing my screens right as I had a tough time getting them to fit under the rear rack, I couldn't get the bar back into place. It took me ages much to the amusement of bystanders!
Funny thing is the first time I did it I had no problem. I'm stowing them mirror image rubber to rubber, no partition ( I didn't know about that until I read it on here, that would make them even fatter. )
It took me ages to get them out again as well, took me longer to do that than get the trad hood up!
What is the secret? I must have done it right accidentally the first time .... Now I don't know what I did.
