In today's world of satellites tracking our every move how on earth can an airliner just disappear? My thoughts are of course with all the people, families & relatives involved in this tragic incident.

Indeed, there is someting rather odd about this.

Whilst airliners do transmit their position regularly it isn't second by second. That there was no radio call, no nothing is a concern. One moment it was there, the next gone.

News today that 2 people were traveling on stolen passports suggests foul play may be involved. Further a number of people checked bagage and then didn't board. The airliner says all the baggage was off loaded. Perhaps it was.

Once they find the flight data recorder we will know a lot more, but it could take some time, as happened with the Airbus over the South Atlantic.

Thoughts and prayers with the family.

One hope for a quick recover is the water depth around in the search area is a lot less (<50m) whereas the AF was circa 1000m.

Seems odd if it were an act of terrorism in that nobody has claimed it (as is normally the case).

There have been reports that the same Muslim group who carried out the mass stabbing in China two weeks ago have claimed responsibility. Due to the state controlled media in China the truth may be slow to come out.

RIP to those onboard and condolences to the family and friends of those deceased.

The 2 false identities had booked onward flights to Europe from Beijing so not looking much like they were terrorists.

God rest the lost souls and may their grieving relatives be provided with some truths shortly surrounding the events leading up to the crash.

If it's deep underwater that won't help much...
