All you need to do is look at the Aeromax build record on this site (in the Special Information section) to see that repairing an Aeromax is not a simple task. In particular, the rear section and roof is one piece and as it is made of aluminium, it isn't simply a matter of panel beating. Even minor damage to an Aero 8 is costly to repair and therefore, even if the chassis isn't damaged (this hasn't been confirmed and buyer beware), the cost to take apart the Aeromax and put new panels in place may be too cost prohibitive.

For MMC to warn the dealers about Morgan Aeromax 38, the damage must be significant.

Photos of the damaged Aeromax #38 can be found on this thread .

Next time I speak with the factory, I will ascertain what the story on this damaged Morgan actually is. I have heard bits of the story regarding Aeromax 38 but will be glad to hear the entire tale.

As an update, I was told yesterday that this car was 'written off' the owner was paid out, and subsequently has purchased another 'Max.

As such it is understood that this may be being offered by the salvage company. MMC confirmed they wouldn't supply panels etc for it and told one of the advertisers such (believe it has been with two dealers at various times).

Whilst I wouldn't swear my mortgage on the above, the same story keeps coming up, and as the old adage says, if it looks like **** and it smells like **** it most probably is ****.

I see that you mention "maxies" for sale. But I have not seen this one mentioned.

There is, and has for some time been, an Aeromax, LHD, manual, at Melvyn Rutter's.
