Get prepared for the stupidest question ever

How do you lock the doors when inside, including when stationary in traffic

Hi Jenny

The metal lever on each door push it down unless yours also has autolock like mine?

Pleased to see you are enjoying your Aero let me know when you will be at the factory.

I cannot see any lever so it must be autolock. That being said i wound down the window in dublin on a pretty dodge street while stopped (engine running) in traffic. I found to my horror the door was able to open from the outside. Whats the story with autolock obviously when you moving noone want's or can get in but isn't it pretty usless when you stop at traffic lights if it opens again. I dont know what it is but since day 1 in my first ever car first thing is seatbelts and second is locking. I hate going anywhere without being locked up

Hi Jenny

I understand what you say about being locked in, maybe there is some other change between my S11 car and your S111 car.

On my car there is a metal lever on the inside of each door which allows you to lock or unlock from inside, I also find if you get in the car, turn on the ignition and wait while the system check takes place about 5 seconds, then press the starter button when you then drive off the doors Autolock. Problem is I do not know if this is a fault or a feature of my car!

I will take a picture today of the lever inside my car and try to put it here for you.

Thanks for that, but it's not there. How bizarre! It does say in the handbook about the lever ....

Maybe the S111 is different then, I think Simon may know as his car is a S111.

Jenny, my door is the same as yours!

Only the S1 & S2 cars come with the coathanger door opener

So how exactly do you lock the doors so? The alarm fob? I know when stopped with the engine running i could open the door from the outside, which is defintley a problem

I have just obtained a solution for this problem from Malvern.

All series III car owners (the cars without the "coathanger door opener") need to do is take the exact internal width dimension, obtain a rope or wire for that length PLUS say 200mm either side and tie internally from one door to the other and voila, you're secure.
To open doors just undo knot. Pls remember do NOT use double knots (makes it awkward) and you only need to undo from one side only to release and enable you to get out.
Nice to have a simple solution to this issue. Yr thanks accepted in advance.
