Anyone know what seat frame is fitted to a S11 Aero? I am thinking of changing my seats for some that recline and thought if I could get a pair from an old Z3 or something and get them re-upolstered in the correct leather I may then be comfortable.

I thought I heard someone say the seat frames were ex-BMW but which model?

Best people to ask are the factory - I would imagine they will be able to tell you who the supplier is.

I do not think they are BMW seats of any kind; however, the runners may be universal or you may be able to modify them. My only concern would be that the seats seem rather narrow - so you may find it difficult to locate/choose a suitable replacement.

(I'd start by speaking with Recaro as they seem to supply a lot of OEM equipment but also very helpful - for instance some of the guys that ran/run BMW CSLs found the seats very uncomfortable and Recaro not only helped them choose a better option, but also recovered them in BMW stock fabric to match the interior)

Thanks Simon, I am at the factory tomorrow so will ask there. I also found last night a firm that say they will remake the original seats to include recline and tilt so I have emailed them also.

I was wondering about the Z8 seats... they may be narrow enough or even the new Z4M

Any news on this?

Think I could kill two birds with one stone and dump the oem seats and replace with lighter items...

Hi Mr Tony, Steve Simmonds has told me he can strip and remake Aero seats or make new ones and will be available to do this next month so I am going to get mine done when I move up there later in March

I'm thinking that a set of carbon shells from recarro / sparco would be a good start point, then just cover in leather to get the colours right.

Thing is then I'd be after a carbon dash like the GTN has to make it all match and it'll start to get expensive!
