Please read the post in the Racing Forum below. Here is a snippet from the factory
"We are delighted to inform you that the Banque Baring Brothers Sturdza sponsored GT3 race car, based on the new version of the AeroMax due to be unveiled to the public in late April, will be racing at Silverstone 2 & 3 May 2009.

With improved aero dynamics on top of the well proven platform from last year, the Morgan GT3 racecar boasts an improved top speed and we anticipate it being at the front of the pack!"

So what is it going to look like ?? All opinions here please !

I notice that the picture shows twin sidepipes I've been talking up in previous posts.. Now if they were cut at an angle like the SLR then my work as a design guru is complete..

I'm still hoping for the M5 V10..

While I don't believe we'll see an M-engine in the Aeromax 2, I'd add that Pistonheads news is about as factual as UK Autocar, so more speculation than fact.

To say that the PH article adds nothing new to the discussion would be kind. wink

As the top of the range Morgan has had as one of its core values easy low-down torque combined with light weight, since the introduction of the Plus 8 in 1968, like you I don't see there being a sea-change in the type of engines used and thus, the next engine used in the top Aero models after the 4.8L must be the 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine from the BMW X6 imho. coffee

Turbo packaging within the engine bay would be a challenge I think.

Having run a car (3200gt) with twin turbos I think it would be a challenge to have that kind of power delivery in a car as light as the aero and stay on the black stuff. The masers tc light was permanently lit and without it a 1700kg car was very prone to lighting up the rears in 5th at 100mph...

There is a thing I think as rolls would put it as 'sufficient' and there is no real need for more low down torque on current models.. Still I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy it!
