I got an email from Allon Whites this afternoon which amongst other things said that there was a new Special Edition on its way to be revealed at Silverstone Classic at the end of the month. The car is being "developed " by AR Motorsport the performance division of Morgan. The only substantive information is that the car will have a Cosworth engine. Does anyone have any info?

Andy.

It's a piecemeal disclosure which started out as a whisper from the corner of the mouth, and has progressed at glacial pace. At the AGM I could have paid a deposit.......

There's one photo on the MMC twitter? showing an engine with throttle bodies clothed in carbon fibre.

Look at the Cosworth website, and other engine specialists who deal with Cosworth crated engines, and do a bit of extrapolation.
Engine power? Between Plus 4 and Roadster. Has to be some distance from 150bhp to be worthwhile.

Rear suspension? No direct link has been announced but it doesn't take Einstein to work out that the revised suspension is likely to be part of it.

I'm interested in a "fast" Plus 4 but by the sound of this it will be race oriented, and Roadster money, so for me is not what I want. All I want is a new car experience and essentially a 'standard' Plus 4 with a bit more poke.

I might have to make my own.............eventually.

My understanding is that it is intended to be a road car with a degree of refinement. Obviously if someone wants to go racing I am sure it won't take a huge effort to fit the various safety devices.

I hope I don't give too much away by saying that a certain colour features innocent

I think you are slightly off the mark Dave, I think it will be a limited edition Cosworth, aimed at those that want a pokey Plus 4 aimed at road use. As you suspect I think it will be the 50k+ mark. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a precursor to other developments.
