The spoils of Victory wine (Race I) flag flag

MogMan Celebrates!

Race II about to start, where's Boshers gone?

Pay attention Bosher's

Back to business; Morgan on pole in Race II, but the other car (101)

The rolling start...

The driver's celebrate their win (Lesoudier & Martin)

Asbo thinks: looks nothing like a Series II, but I have this mate in Essex who does cut'n'shuts, maybe...

Plenty of technic, but on this day - not enough Vorsprung! The winners podium with the Morgan driver's on the highest step!!

Our turn to Celebrate a Victory

Just a few more on another thread, if you are patient...

Aeroman.

I spoke to my mate in Essex and he said it wouldn't be a problem creating my long wheelbase series 2. He also offered a solution to your problem of getting hold of a Supersport before anyone else Aeromax converstion kit

Thanks Asbo that should work, but it looks a bit technical for me. Do you have an instruction book handy? cozychair

This car was parked in front of the Intercontinental Park Lane last friday. We were told is was "someone in motor racing" by the hotel staff but they would not mention a name. I was told it was one of the drivers.

It is also seen in Manchester a lot, in most cases driven by a lady apparently. There was an almost famous moment when a member of the "yellow line devils" got a full round of applause from the crowd for placing a ticket on it for illegal parking. Then world peace broke out.

Not seen one in the flesh*, but they do strike me as remarkably ugly. I know that Morgans, and Aero S1s particularly, are a bit of a Marmite car but the Veyron is something else.

A mechanical marvel it may be, but that snout....

(*though we have one in the area apparently - given to a teenager at college by his doting father :-O )

I've seen one in the metal and it would be difficult to call it attractive... strong, yes, a lot of presence, again yes but not attractive imho.

However, as you said, I believe it is more about proving what VAG can achieve technically than the creation of a stunning beauty.

I stopped by Romans today and they have 2 Veyrons in stock. One black and white and one all black. I think the all black one looks nicer. They had an Alfa 8C in stock as well but already spoken for. Some of the Fezza's they have look quite nice but I don't like the Merc Maclaren. Doesn't look right.

They are coming down in price..£5m to build..list price £1m,... one has just been sold (2nd hand) for £600,000. (anyone fancy taking that loss ?) sick2

Even at £100,000 the car is not attractive enough, it only turns heads because of the hype and the £5m build price publicity (imo).... Oh and its 1000hp spend smile

Absolutely not he said, please park it there. We like to have cars like that parked outside as it enhances the image of the hotel. He then became conspiratorial saying, "We had a Bugatti Veyron parked there last weekend, but I much prefer the Morgan and its British." uk

He allowed another Aero 8 to park outside too and thus BUL 5 did not have his usual pride of place at the hotel that weekend. innocent thumbs

We then parked behind aeroman and boshly, and just to add to the status of the Bug on the otherside of the entrance they allowed a 1 series BMW to park behind it laugh2 laugh2 laugh2

If I had several £100k to spare I don't think I would be buying one, jusr doesn't rock my boat.

I was interested to see a RHD Koenigsegg CC8S for sale in Classic and Sports Car magazine this month.

3,800 miles, 2003, it had a £21,000 service and upgrade in January 08 and is for sale for offers around £199,500. As the ad states, this is nearly one third of the original cost scared

A £21,000 service and depreciation like that sick3

Imagine what the Veyron must be like...

Bug is a mean looking sonofabit*h but pretty it is not. An engineering marvel it truly is though. Having seen the fantastic exhibition on the story of the veyron at the schlumpf collection museum in strasbourg you have to admire vw.

Its also notable the connection between the bug and the series 1 aero - the turned ally dash is made by the same craftsmen in the same factory to the same high standard....

All the reports and tests underline the fact that the bug is just in another league performancewise to anything else available ccx zonda enzo included. I'd love a bug but I'll keep saving for now...

It's just a phenomenal piece of engineering.

Would love one!

Totally unattainable although that may be part of the charm.

Whilst admiring the engineering tour-de-force that the Bugatti is, for me the Zonda remains the unachievable wheels that I would most like to own! crazy2

When our UK office was in Great Missenden I used to regularly stop at Hudson's in Stoke Poges, who were the Pagani Zonda Distributor in the UK. However, I drove past them yesterday and the premises were boarded-up with a large To Let sign posted. Their website has also disappeared so does anybody know what has happened to Pagani's repesentation in the UK, as it seems Hudson's are no longer trading? confused2

Motors TV Yesterday had the race coverage, not as comprehensive as last years.

Nice to see some of our members on TV though.

Is anyone off to Italy for the next round, which includes a night race! englandwave
