After talking to Simon in the car yesterday, he has encouraged me to go-ahead with what I have been thinking about for the Aero SuperSport in the way of a colour specification. I had thought about Giallo Granturismo, as it is a deeper colour than the usual Giallo Fly. Giallo Granturismo

With the rollover-bar and targa panels finished in black, it would give somewhat the appearance of the 2002 Aero - Le Mans car, which I have always liked. De Walt Series I - Le Mans Car

Maserati recommend Rosso Corallo for the interior leather, but that is I think far too radical for me. shocked2 I don't want black, as the AeroMax has a distressed black interior, no dark blue as one of our others cars has this, so what does anyone recommend, that is for the exterior and a contrasting interior? cozychair

I have no suggestion on colour as I believe whatever colour you're choosing it will be stunning thumbs BUT I would not paint the rollbar, it looks far nicer in aluminium love

Hi Kin,

Good to see you around TM, how's things? Are you contemplating buying another toy to complement your RR, there's some amazing bargains out there now as you know! innocent

Unfortunately, the roll bar is not aluminium but a paint finish or some sort, and they also offer it in black in the same finish. If it was polished aluminium then I agree with you, I would not consider changing it...

Brian, we may end up with almost matching! You may have seen my earlier post about the colour scheme being a reverse of my Aero, so Matt black wheels with Gialla Ginestra body and black suede interior. The Gialla Ginestra is the yellow I have on the diffuser and under the bonnet, a bit paler than the Maserati colour (my wheels are currently at Rimstock being colour matched as they came out a bit too orangey).

The roof would be black as with the silver would remind me too much of the vx220 colour scheme! Matthew said the intention (may change) was for dark colours to have the silver and light colours to have the black.

Agreed that the car will look fantastic in any colour, though just that smidgen bit better in the Giallo Granturismo, or Giallo Fly for that matter.

Cheers

This morning, I have seen, a 911 turbo Cabriolet, in "Speed Yellow". It had black leather, with a subtle yellow contrast stitching (not just on the seats, but around the dash and centre console as well)... Yellow seat belts and yellow brake calipers, on matt black wheels.....it looked stunning. sunny

Don't think my b*lls are big enough to be so adventurous, wish they were cos it sounds like its going to look great. well done englandwave

Ian, oops! doh I didn't see that post, though I did see one saying you knew what your spec would be. coffee Anyway, I think that the colours are different enough not to matter and in any case, I may change my mind and have something completely different. cheers

Head Office quite liked the Giallo Granturismo when she was ordering her Maserati, but I felt that a big car like that in it would be too much sunny so she went for metallic black instead. wink

Still looking at colours, so nothing set in stone as yet...

P.S. Have you ordered your car and got a number yet?

Thanks Philippo, I wouldn't expect anything less from you (or Ivo). I accept that yellow cars are faster...

Some good suggestions from you guys, I am looking at some bottle green leathers, but as Andy infers a bit of a risky combination. I may play safe on the interior.

dmat's suggestion sounds nice, but I prefer the Giallo Granturismo yellow if it's a non-Porsche, if you know what I mean. confused2

My Griff was Halycon yellow with a dark green bottle full leather interior, and as says 109er it worked very well.

My Westfield Megabird was a Giallo yellow with black buckets black roll bar and black wheels.

Not quite an Aero SS but still a 'stunning' combination; though a bit 'in yer face' laugh2

Just a thought. Have you considered a combination similar to the current GT3 car?

Another thought. If you are keen on Rosso Corallo for the interior one colour that works really well with this is Audi Lava Grey. We used it in combination with red leather to good effect on our Audi S5 - indeed it's been our default colour on many of our Audi cars as an exclusive option. It's an intensely pearlescent colour with just the slightest hint of brown to it. It is just a splendid colour.

This used to be my dealer's +8 He has a Roadster now, with the same colours, but reversed (yellow wings, green body) looks interesting.

If you went for that yellow exterior I would have difficulty describing the red interior as too radical. The whole lot is radical but for me I would say yes please! woohoo

Great choice of colours thumbs For me, in that case, the luggage compartment lid should be in black as well.

You asked for opinions... wink

With this combination, a black interior looks best. Don't use too many colours. Two is maximum. If you want different to black, go for the same also for the exterior.

Unfortunately, there are not too many that go with yellow, without looking "circus" I see just black, dark blue and dark green.

Good luck smile

Salut,
Ivo

I like that Gumpert hue. A little bit of orange softens it to just the right degree for me.

I thought the seats on the pre-production car were trimmed perfectly. I love the untreated leather - reminds me of a Chesterfield sofa - and the colour was great.
