Thanks for this Simon - I'm almost speechless, well almost. Dave, I'm sure I speak for many when I say that your info-posts are interesting, informative and make for a thoroughly enjoyable read. Thank you for taking the time to write them. The next version of the forum software is supposed to have a personal blog feature for each member - this should make your diary even easier to post. ps - I'll add to this as and when you undertake more projects.

Am I the only one who wonders what would happen if we got DaveW, Cerealsurfer and Yuri locked up for a few weeks in a warehouse full of 'Morgan parts' ..... Now that would be a TV program Good on you Dave (and the others) you more than make up for my (and others???) uselessness

If all these Howtos would have appeared in the Miscellany our Club journal would have been of much more interest for us non-Brits for whom most of the time only the ads are useful(no offence intended, the editors do a fine job but they can only publish what they get). Are there reasons why DaveW wouldn't let them have it or why they wouldn't take it?
Apologies if my questions are too personal or politically incorrect.
Frank

Good question Frank.
If you look back to the early part of 2009, you'll find two articles in Miscellany about my early improvements, which were condensed by me into something more appropriate for the magazine.
The problem as I see it is that we DIYers are in a minority, and as has been jokingly mentioned in another thread, most Mog owners seem to prefer a nice lunch, unless they are racing nuts of course. Clearly there's a strong emphasis on competition in Miscellany, and there's nothing wrong with that, but much of the balance is taken up by travel articles.
My third submitted feature, which was about fitting the spoiler didn't make the magazine, and so since then I haven't submitted other technical articles. I do know that space in Miscellany is at a premium, and after my initial Concours Spot features, future submissions will be more restricted. I may try another technical feature sometime, but the 'how to' series here on TM don't translate into a magazine article without serious editing. There are too many photos and not enough narrative. The magazine needs the opposite balance.
So that's how I see it. I also know that few technical articles are submitted, due to the preponderance of 'lunchers'. Maybe my planned kingpin job will make a good magazine feature, but it will appear here first, almost in real time.
