“Norway Travel Kit” #1

Here some examples from the modifications I made the last days before our trip through Norway last June.

Part one:
To protect the side screens from scratches etc. if they are stored behind the passenger seat (means most the time) we sew a bag for the upper sides screen. Material: Thin fleece with some Velcro. So both Side screens are also protected if there is some luggage stored behind the seats.

For the cold days we made a blanket to put on our knees.

I bought a large piece of thick fleece, folded in the middle and made some cuts for the gear lever an the hand brake lever. Both sides are fixed together with some snap fasteners, so it could be used for picnic or in in cold nights in the Norwegian cabins (called “Hytter”)

Was that snow about in June?
Must have been way up North?
I am up in Norway on a cruise late this month....looking forward to the trip.
Been there a couple of times on cruises with great trips when in port. Spitzbergen was awesome...cold, snow,ice....Nye Alesund research station and Magdalena Fiord further North were "ports" of call.
Not worried about the cold...got good cold weather gear, and expised for short times only!

Yes! The picture was made end of june last year on the "Sogne fjell"!
I can´t deside what is more fantastic: Winter with bike/ sidecar or last summer with the 4/4!

One big difference: On the bike I use winter tyres!

2005 4/4 1800ccm Duratec and a lot of HONDA CX500.......

That road (the E55) from Sogndal to Otta over the Sognefjell is probably my favourite road in Europe.

You drive from the sea level of the fjord through the snow line to the top of the pass at around 3000m and back down to the lush green valley of Gudbrandsdalen in about 3 to 4 hours. Fantastic views all the way along.
I have never seen that much snow in summer, but the road itself is usually clear after winter, although the surface itself is normally pretty badly damaged by the winter frosts.

Wonderful photos which bring back such happy memories , Thanks for posting
