I heard the trunk will be larger and the seats different.

The petrol tank on the prototype Aero SS is in the wrong place, giving it a rear parcel shelf with the bottle of shampoo and glasses! wine

On the production car the tank will be in the same position as the Series IV, so bigger boot and no rear parcel shelf!

New electric seats are being developed for the SS, though it has not been said whether these will also be available for the Series IV. coffee

I wonder Brian if Morgan will opt for daytime running lights on the production SS? coffee

IIRC they become mandatory in 2011. cop

I suppose the easiest and most discreet option would be to utilise the side lights. Can't quite see MMC going for an R8 style visage! sunny

An interesting point Robert, I wonder how they are going to solve it. Audi-style lights would not really look good on an Aero and what on earth are they going to fit on a trad that won't look pants! frown

It is interesting to work through that comment, I have always looked at the flowing balanced lines of the Aeromax as being very Art Deco inspired.

Many aspects of Art Deco did benefit from lighting and one of the most famous Deco buildings is the Chrysler building which is stunning at night.

Given unlimited development funds and access to Mr BMWs lighting accessories which are similar to Audi it could be a quite amazing opportunity? Damn that reality thing it gets in the way every time.

It would be quite stunning to imagine the Max or Supersports with lighting that accentuates the lines and edges which make it so different from "box wagons". Using running lights as strips in the same way as the Chrysler building uses internal lighting to punch through the outline and generate additional forms.

Placing a line of LED lights around the curved edge of the nose could be quite enhancing to the effect?

Some of the photoshop work done by site members in the past could be fun, sadly I am a hardware geek and not up to the task.

Interesting post Alistair. However, don't you feel that the lighting in Art Deco was usually fairly subtle, whereas the LED lights are hardly that - on our Porker the LED running lights are much brighter than the sidelights. frown

I think that they work well on the Audi's, maybe because if I am not mistaken they were the first to have them and the frontal design is very modern and they don't look like an obvious afterthought. I'm not sure they look quite right on the classic 911 shape; not to mention what they would look like on the Aero retro shape. tumbleweed

I would assume that the easiest solution will be to pick the new headlights from the BMW Mini, that will have to comply as well with day light as there would be virtually no changes to the car, except some electrickery

Interestingly, in the video, Matt mentioned 0 - 60 in under 4 seconds. Have they modified the engine from the S4 ?

Steve, maybe they have just done a little bit of real world testing rather than estimating. The estimate for the S4 auto is 4.2 seconds to 62mph. I think it is slightly quicker than that in real life.
