Well the real reason for all that polishing and those smart pictures being taken now becomes clear. Its up for sale confused

It is one of the "rare" series II models with lots to say for itself. Not in our hands very long sadly as the good lady is uncomfortable using the short shift to get reverse due to an operation on her hands some time ago. We are now going to squeeze the piggy bank and try to and sort out an S4 Auto but its going to be squeaky for while hence we will sell the S2 now. spend

For only 44,000 of Her Majesty's finest beer tokens you get to own a wonderful example of Morgans finest toil in the form of;-

Aero 8 Series II 2005/55 plate
Jaguar Gunmetal Silver with Blue/Blue interior and hood
Excellent condition paintwork with "plastic" covering to front and sides
4.4L V8 with 330bhp in good voice and fettle
Sidepipes which sound quite wonderful
15,000 miles (unless I find where she has hidden the keys again)
Morgan photographic build record
Loads of paperwork including recent bills
10 months warranty remaining that can be transferred
Recent new tyres and alignment on exceptional condition alloys (gunmetal)

Recent brake fluid change and work done by Millers and RCT with extensive service history and paperwork. New hood clamps have resulted in a good tight hood fit and no water in to date. It is in showroom condition and ready to go. I have spent the last two months cleaning and fettling it with the intention of keeping it, it was not to be sick3

The colour really works well on the car and the condition of the paintwork needs to be seen. Between the "plastic" covering and the polish it is really stunning with hardly a mark on it including the nose section. The alloys are in excellent condition with no marks or damage, brand new tyres having been fitted, balanced and aligned. It has 10 months of warranty remaining and I have checked, it is transferable to the new owner.

I am willing to be flexible with the price to a board member who offers a good home however I will plead the cost of an unplanned S4 Auto upgrade if it dips far! If anyone knows of a good condition 4.8 Auto or possible exchange plan then I am all ears and a little frightened.

It has been a fantastic introduction to the Morgan family and put the best smile on my face of any car purchased since I learnt to drive. Good home wanted. Sorry I could not blag a dog or some friendly farmyard animals in the creation of this posting. I will try and do better in future.

Did I say they were rare, apparently I heard it somewhere.

Sad.

(p.s. no dogs or chickens were harmed in the process of making this advert.)

So can anyone help me ?

Hardly a sniff so far for the Aero. I am happy to drop the price as I need to get moving but so far few to nil serious enquiries.

Can anyone guide me as to what I have wrong (don't all rush to say I will give you £20k for it frown )

It is in wonderful condition, I love driving it but I need to move up to the S4 soon or I will loose the option.

I have it on C&C, Pistonheads, tried both Autotraders for three weeks and not a sniffle. Is £40 a magic barrier as there were a number of Series 1 out there and I feel the youth, better setup, lower milage and condition of mine make it worth the extra ?

Am I barking up the wrong tree ?

Nice car, good price (if somewhat negotiable) and it will sell.

But.... The wrong time of year, which you can do nothing about.

Drop considerably now for a quick sale or hold your horses and wait for the right buyer.

My 2ps worth

I would agree with Boshly on this and as mine was on order and delivery was getting nearer it was the only reason I decided to drop the price and it went quickly.

Have you tried Miscellany? I've noticed we don't seem the have many aeros for sale at the minute. It might also be worth seeing where the buyer of Matts Series 1 came from?

Alistair, I don't believe you are asking too much; however, it is an unfortunate fact that sometimes buyers are tempted by price to make an initial inquiry.

As the others have said, the time of year is not in your favour and my feeling is that this is probably playing a large part in why you aren't getting the attention the Aero deserves.

I personally found PH to be full of time-wasters (as is eBay).

It is really too specialised for Autotrader (imho) but something like Car & Classic and Classic Sports car would perhaps give a more focused audience. Even so, the jury is still out on these generalist forms of web sales.

Which leaves the specialist areas such as Miscellany, Talk Morgan and SOR at a Morgan dealership.

I would agree with the "time of the year" comments and in comparison to what seems to be the current price for Mk 1's, the price seems OK.
But the other side of the coin is that for "just" another 6k you can get a Mk3. If you are after a quickish sale it may be sensible to widen that gap a bit but.

BTW I sold my TVR Cerbera by Piston heads, I had 4 responses and eventually sold it to one of them. Two of them were dreamers but they are fairly obvious and in fact did not waste too much time, and of course it was free.

Cheers Peeps.

As time is somewhat pressing I am happy to take 40,000 for cash if it makes the difference but would have trouble going anywhere below this.

I will have another pop at C&C again, I have entered it twice and it never comes up in the searches so I am clearly doing something wrong.

In some ways I will be very sad to see it go, I love the gearbox and the colour looks fabulous going through town at night under the lights. Between that and the noise of the sidepipes it really ought to have a Class 1 drug warning written on it in this Health&Safety ridden age.

Still onwards and upwards !
