And what a great day to collect a Morgan. Clear blue skies all round. Predictably the factory had the car waiting for us with the roof already down. I took my son with me. He recently bought a Caterham so he knows a little bit about open motoring and watching for clouds but I thought I would introduce him to a little style! Sadly we didn't have the time to take the long route home so I've only put 70 miles on the clock. We did stop en route to take some hasty snaps which I've included here. More after the week-end when I've had a chance to play.

First impressions: Wonderful. I sold my Plus 8 20 years ago so this is like coming home. Can't stop smiling.

A question for the Aero 8 masters: the factory said nothing about "running in" so I'm keeping the revs below 4,000 rpm until after the first service. Any views?

David

Stunning car David!

Hope that you have a lot of fun with your Aero 8.

I think you are spot on as regards running in - I have with all my cars always kept the revs below 4000 for the first 1000 miles.

Kind Regards,

Robert

But 70 miles wasn't the shortest route home either grin2 !

Looks grand David - look forward to seeing it in the flesh one day soon. There's an MT noggin coming up at Hook Norton on 28th December if you fancy a drive out...

Cheers,

Thanks for sorting the photos. I re-sized them but clearly it didn't work.

Congratulations on your new Aero 8, it looks very nice. Enjoy it in good health.

Looks luverly, nice to see you opted for the side pipes as well.

How do you find putting the roof up and down?

I'm going on a crash weightlifting course over Christmas hoping that might help. xmastree

You'd have laughed. When the factory showed me how to raise the roof they couldn't move it. Hurried visit to the workshop made it slightly better but they looked at me and agreed that I really needed some arm muscle development before taking ownership - see you at the gym! notworthy

David

Enjoy your new car.

Regarding running in I was advised the same when I took delivery of a new Aeromax for a friend. In spite of this IMHO can't imagine it would do any harm to be moderate with right foot for first 1000 miles.

Cheers

The problem I've found is getting the roof cover on, nearly have to sit on the folded roof in order to clip the cover down.

Now answer truthfully. How many trips have you made to the garage to check that its okay. thumbs

Ha!

I've seen you - you followed a spiky blue Land Rover 90 along Suffolk Road this afternoon, then passed it on Westal Green 'roundabout' just before 16:00 thumbs

Looks really good!

Cheers,

I remember from owning a Morgan before that you can't move around town discretely! I was certainly around that part of town at that time so probably was me.

Not many opportunities to take it out over the last couple of weeks but I have to say I'm enjoying it more and more. Quite different from the Plus 8. Have already discovered how to adjust the roof to stop it leaking. Which is novel because the Plus 8 just leaked!

Thanks Graham

If you were there then I'm stating the obvious but I didn't make the noggin on 28th and was just wondering whether there were any "local" noggins in the New Year.

David cheers

'Spotmog' have their monthly evening noggin at The Greyhound, Siddington on Tuesday 19 Jan. They are a friendly bunch and would be glad to welcome you and your new Mog.

David,

Just in case you were thinking of going, the date of the 'Spotmog' noggin has been changed to Thursday 28 Jan.
