Ivo

Sorry to hear of your incident, it is always so much worse in a rare and special car.
It was also a sunny day here and I took my car out, slightly damp road surfaces gave a little twitching, but sometimes you've just got to get out there and get a Morgan grin.
Hope its just shaken and not stirred.

Sorry to read this Ivo. It may have put the rims slightly out of alignment with the centres.

The stainless steel used on the rims seems 'soft' to me. I found a tiny dent on the rim edge of my rear nearside soon after purchase. It's a perfect part circle - like a woodruff key but tiny. I couldn't fathom how this had happened for a few days.... thinking
Suddenly it hit me....... idea

Somebody.... and definitely not me......... has caught the edge of the rim with the hammer when removing or tightening the centre nut. The tiny dent exactly matches the hammer in the toolkit.

And that's why I prefer the special hex tool.....
With a giant bar.

Dear Ivo,

I can only echo Simon and Asbo's comments. gloomy

These things are upsetting to a level that those who are not car enthusiasts simply don't understand.

Hope that your pride and joy is back the way that you want as soon as possible.
Let's hope that it's soon looking sunny again.

Kind Regards,

Robert

I drove the car from where it happened to my work and from there to the dealer. Around 25 km. It behaved quite well, No shake no rattle, just the steering felt a bit differently.

Sorry to hear this Ivo.
But, as others have said, you are OK. The car can always be repaired...
Hope it doesn't prove too costly.

Regards,

Glad you are fine and the Mog only has minor damage.

If the steering feels off, I would agree that the impact had thrown the alignment out. With some luck nothing is bent in the steering assembly and it will simply be a case of realignment. thumbs

Hi all smile

So, now I know: Three rims, one tire, one stub axle. shocked2 The rest seems OK but a more thorough look must be taken at the front suspension, while they're on it, just to make sure. The good news... my all risk (full kasko) insurance will cover everything.

I must say, that I'm very happy to have a dealer just a few miles from me. Even more, because he has very good mechanics and his customer service that considerably improved with the new people he hired lately. My baby is in good hands and I'm looking forward to get it back in two or three weeks.
drive

Sunny greetings,
Ivo

Hi Ivo,
Sorry to learn about this accident, but I waited for final diagnostic. I was anxious about the frame or even the crossmember. It is better like that.
I hope your beautiful car will be on the road very soon. Keep us informed.
Best regards.
Daniel.
