from the Aero to a Porsche 996 Turbo with extra oomph: just waiting for a handover date. My v tidy (in both the welsh and normal sense of the word) aero series 1 is up for sale at Allon & Whites. Couldn't resist the desire to have a change.

There doesnt seem to be a lot of series 1's around...must be the time of year.

I'm interested in hearing your opinion on the 996 Turbo once you've had it for a few months. Are you running it as a daily driver?

I owned a 996 Turbo before my Aero 8 and 997 Turbo between my Aero and my Aeromax; so have some experience with these cars.

Much as the Porsche is a nice looking car, A Morgan and an Aero to boot, is surely FAR more interesting. Seen one Porsche - seen them all. redcard Could this be just another case of a 'Woolfie in Sheeps Clothing' innocent

I like the Aero; i like its difference, its presence. I also like certain porsches. I loved my 996 GT2 I had before the Aero. Always wanted to own a Turbo (i have gone through most of the Porsches..and this one was forever on my list). Funny old world. Best not to try and explain why we do certain things - like sell the aero and buy a porsche (i'll ignore the VW jibe). Happy to be a sheep for a while.

i'll let you know Simon. I am looking forward to some good cross-country drives - so i'll see how it and i handle after doing some solid driving.

Oliver: i am also waiting for the 997 GT2 prices to come into my orbit. Then i'll see and compare to the forthcoming 997 turbo s.

But also havent entirely finished with the Morgan marque..just havent enough room in my garage; otherwise i would have kept both.

GLLHG : re sheep..if you read Murakami you'll take a different view on "sheep people".
