In the post on another section of the forum there was mention of MMC's record year in 2009 and talk of where the company would head after the Aero Supersports have been built this year.

For one I would love to see Morgan producing something along the lines of this VW Three Wheel Motorcycle from 2006.

Wouldn't it be a special way to enter the second 100 years!

It would be nice, but maybe it should be equipped with some option skis to replace the front wheels and a track at the rear. That way you get all year round motoring. snow

Anyhow I would have thought you'd have had enough of 3 wheelers. Is it all fixed yet?

John,

Thankfully the pedal car problem is in hand.

Had it not been for the snow it would have been fixed by now but that will have to wait until the weather improves.

Have to give credit to he factory - they have been superb in addressing the issue.

Regards,

Robert

Nice Post Robert. With a Young and hopefully Dynamic Design Team at Morgan MC, it would be interesting to be a Fly on their wall and get a sneak view at the concept boards that will never see the light of day. coffee

Another one for me; Having been been responsible for turning a profit for the shareholders of a Design Led Fashion Industry manufacturer, what would be the thinking at Morgan regarding the projected returns from each model, existing and planned new.

Presumably the past mix has been 'customer driven' with the extended forward bookings. The swing to Supersport and yet to be announced models, I wonder just who or how will they control the infamous Return on Capital? innocent

When Tony Divey retired, the Triking Sports Cars Company was put out for sale. I told it to Alan Garnett,
chairman at the time, and proposed a MMC takeover in order to secure a foot back into the US market (a three-wheeler would not need to comply with the strict regulations of cars). Although he admitted that the idea of taking up three-wheeler production surfaced from time to time, it was always turned down.

Now, going for a modern three-wheeler like the Peugeuot 2CUP, perhaps based on hybrid technology, would open up a whole new entry-level market.

The VW 3 wheeler looks good, fast and fun, in these days of green motoring I suspect it would be very environmentally friendly.
It does look like a product that would sit well with a Morgan badge on, although you have to wonder why VW did not follow it up.

Very good comment lightsphere.

It would particularly sit well with Morgan Aero Racing as I am sure this sort of vehicle would be track biased.

The VW group seem able to turn out a multitude of concept cars some of which see the light of day (Audi TT, Audi LeMans (R8) amongst others) and many that simply don't make it (VW W12, Audi Avus and Avantissimo to name but a selection).

Suspect that the three wheeler was just too small a niche and perhaps too far away from it's core business.

Regards,

Robert

Thanks Harald for two good links.

I wasn't aware of the Triking Sports Car Company and the Peugeot had slipped my mind completely.

The Triking is very traditional obviously and the Peugeot quite at the other end of the scale.

Still like the VW though - it's has all the coolness of the X-Bow and some more! flag

Regards,

Robert
