Has anyone seen the blurbs in the press saying that a copy of the new Factory brochure on th SuperSports has just sold for 36 quid on e-bay?
OK, having just loooked at my copy, I would acknowledge it's a nice piece of work but that is just a silly price for what is, after all, an advertising catalogue!!

I have not seen the brochure myself but E Bay tends to be like that. Some Items of little face value are bid up by two or more who happen to 'Want One'. On the other hand, unlike Public Auctions, they control downward when one can apply a reserve to something of value or add legitimate postage costs, such that your 'Pride and Joy' could go for a song. I distrust using it to buy or to sell but there are opportunities for the amateur trader. That,s my gripe of the day done!

Frank, I agree totally. It ranks alongside 'Pay Pal' as one of the things which I have never felt the urge to use regards, G

Gerwyn, I hope that bidding works for some of the MX-5 handbooks and other parts I put on eBlag last night!
Cheers,

Ah, Graham it's different for you technical bods. In my case I just can't cope with the technology. I'm the man who queued up for ten minutes in the local Woolworths ( of blessed memory) one Saturday to pay for a pack of DVDs and was then told I was in the Lottery queue ( I've never bought a ticket for that either) and would have to join the other one from the rear! regards, G

Well, for a lot of things I'm very much a technophobe. My mobile phone I only have as a phone - I don't want internet access, media players, music players, dodgy digital camera facilities etc. I have all those separately (apart from the digital camera bit, much preferring film, in 35mm, medium format, or large format panoramic). I could say I prefer my cars as simple as possible too - lift- off door tops with sliding windows, manual roof, carburettor (except the +4), but I've just remembered the 90 has wind-up windows . The replacement for the MX-5 has more to go wrong, electrically... Cheers, Did you buy your DVD's elsewhere after that incident?

It ranks alongside 'Pay Pal' as one of the things which I have never felt the urge to use Hi Gerwyn, Now, PayPal I can defend. It has become my protector from unscrupulous people who don't pay or deliver because of some spurious reason such as lost in the post or sent a totally different item and then accuse me of not returning it for exchange / refund. I have had my share of those and not lost out so far. All you do is open a dispute, make the complaint and let time pass. Eventually any money expended is refunded into the account. Then transferring money out of PayPal is easy as well. Maybe luck has been with me.

Did you buy your DVD's elsewhere after that incident? No, I found a very helpful shop assistant, put on my most pathetic look and told her if I had to queue again I'd miss my 'bus, so she wangled it that I could pay for them straight away! G
