the fixed end of the buckle strap is doubled over and sewn to form a loop, this is pushed through the welded slot on the rack & a 10mm dia st/steel bobbin is then inserted in the loop to stop it coming back out, the bobbin is a tight push fit.The tongue end

the guy who made the straps is a whizz at that sort of thing, worked at jag for many years in 'rag n fluff' ie trim shop as well as being a saddler, now doing stuff for a famous low volume uk car maker, MMC were keen to sign him up but he has too many other commitments
