Great Topic Brian & Gerwyn. Thanks for sharing. the box allows a car to go as fast in reverse as in any forward gear My old 1950's 60 MPH flat out 350cc Excelsior engined Berkeley Trike had a reverse gear that drove it full belt backwards. I found out to my grief when I reversed into an abutment in a dark car park one evening out 'courting'. Split the (cars) rear end down the middle? Living on the edge.

From your post you went to a proper engineering shop and the chap knows his nuts from his bolts [or vice versa ]. Must have been interesting as his quality of work looks excellent.

Is the workshop still in the large garage next to Tony's bungalow? or has Alan moved to a new place?

I've been to look at a completely different car today and test drove it; the absolute antithesis of a Triking (it's a large V8), but forgot to take the camera so I'm afraid the write-up will have to wait for another day. Brian Oh dear, how very covenient forgetful!! Cheers Brian, G

Funnily enough, the thing that really sticks in my mind is that is the only road where I have seen a layby with a Mobile Barber's parked in it!! G

Being negative, they 'walled' him in with a deep bank of earth so that no one could get at him. Is he still there I wonder?
