I had occasion to buy a full skin from Yarwood a while ago and have just recieved this customer letter:

...we write to you for the second time this year to advise you of a necessary price increase.

....the presuures of the global raw hide market and how this staple raw material for leather processing had doubled in the past 12 months. This upward trend....seeing highest raw hide prices in our history. As a result......pass on some increase to customers.

There continues to be low levels of cattle availability but ever increasing demand from both Asia and strong economies......high demand invariably causes rapid and sustained increases in prices.

As a result of this unprecedented situation, we will be applying a 10% price increase on all leathers from 15th May 2010, valid for 3 months......

Time to order your leather trim immediately methinks thinking

I'd concur with that sentiment. I've just had the steering column cowl on my 4/4 leather- covered by Shaun at Allon White's. Luvli bit o work but not cheap!!
