I have been told that they were too bad to be skimmed. Stated problem was that pads had water on them e.g. after washing car this water had an effect on the disk surface that was severe enough to cause brake judder. I am surprised that modern materials cannot stand this.
Could this be the cause of my brake judder when I have driven through heavy rain, and left the car for sometime? (e.g. on a ferry). Food for thought.
Steve,
I think that'a possible explanation. I had a similar juddering problem when I fitted EBC discs to the front of my 4/4 I didn't really have much choice in what discs I got to replace the OEM items because I didn't want to change the calipers and there were very few disks which would have fitted.
THe EBCs were very poor. I got loads of judder at all speeds but especially if the roads were wet. I had them looked at by a couple of specialists and in the end it was sorted temporarily but in addition they pitted very badly, so I took them off after a couple of months.
Might have been just that I had a poor bacth but they weren't good at all
Cheers,
G
