Quite a stunning blue Ewan!
Certainly stands out on a dull day.

Love the colour. I saw one in that colour in the Haynes showroom at Maidstone last week when I took the Fiesta in for service. Really vibrant.

Good man, the world needs more real V8s.

The car really looks good in that colour, no chrome, just blue and black highlights.

We have black wheels on the AMG, so much better than silver, they never look dirty!!

I had previously thought that the bright yellow colour suited the Mustang best , but I must admit that this one has definitely swayed me towards the blue.

Enjoy that V8 it looks lovely in this colour - there was a Cabriolet in the same colour on the stand at Goodwood Revival last weekend and it is a stunner.

It is an inexpensive itch to scratch, £42k with every possible extra, other than body stripes....

We looked hard at it when we were thinking about the AMG.
In the end finesse, build quality and a switchable hooligan exhaust triumphed over the raw charm of the 'Stang.

bummer, home from work and the weather turns cats and dogs, I'll give it a wax, driving will have to wait.

I know it's a common perception that these things are not built as well as Euro cars, but I've yet to see anything below par. It looks good and sounds good and that's where the fun is.

Panel gaps etc seem fine, but why that matters to anyone is beyond me, there are many things in life which I don't measure and that's one of them laugh2

I had the chance to take this shot during a stop driving from Portland to Yakima at the Columbia River scenic drive two weeks ago. The red one was our rental car.
But this blue is awesome. I wrote some lines about the Mustang (eco boost) on TM. I can repeat that the structure and stiffness of the body is very very good regarding the convertible. So the coupe must be an even better and very controllable drive.

As has been said earlier, not much subtlety. I do have an ordinary car too for anonymity, but it's left round the side by the bins.

The Morgan is still my favourite.

At a guess, a proper sports car! Ferrari. Certainly they come with covers like that.

Will be interested to learn how the OP gets on with an American car.

Yay! Dry roads at last, had a blast.
It's really good, nice firm ride, tidal wave of power, lovely interior.....cooled seats are surprisingly comfortable.

No problem with build quality, not a squeak nor rattle, naff all room in the back seats though.

As others have said, an interesting garage. Apart from the new blue bombshell, looks like a Caterham and maybe a 360 under the red cover. The darker blue car at the back looks interesting, I'd guess a fast Ford of some type?

Do put us out of our misery Ewan and list the current stable, also the daily driver?

Ah..the others, well the blue one is a Subaru Impreza, bought that new 2002, it's still like new, very noisy and fast.
The caterham is a xflow 1992, restored it three years ago, 150hp-550kg, very noisy and fast.
The red one is a Ferrari F430, had that five or six years, like new but I've driven it the most, now at 45k miles, very noisy and fast.
The morgan, you should already be bored reading about, I love everything about it, it must be it's first birthday about now, 6k miles and not even a single chip or scratch, relativity quiet and sensibly quick.
Daily appliances are a Fiesta which is actually very good but slow ( kids leaner spec) and a VW touran, the only diesel. Bought both new with the intention of getting ten years out of them. Even the VW has a good turn of speed and handles exceptionally well, but in my opinion, it's the poorest quality.

The space looks relatively small for 5 very nice cars , not sure how they all fit in there !
I wonder if Howard wishes he still had his red one.

The three in the row still have room round about, the Morgan should really be at the door for a quick getaway but it's cosier further in. The garage is L shaped, the area in the foreground is much larger, I could squeeze another two in....like an Aero and maybe a vintage single seater track car, but that would just be silly.

As I posted earlier I drove a Stang convertible across the US this year on Route 66.

That was the Ecobost but it is a fine car with buckets of ummph.

The 5l must be awesome.

How is the rear headspace in the fastback?

The souped up version looks the business Clipper, the only thing I'd like is a little bit more noise, but maybe I'll just leave as is, there's enough noise with the others.

Have to laugh at the comical fake rear diffuser on ours. On the ferrari, it really works, when driven quick on a wet road it practically hoovers the water off the road. On the mustang, the hidden leading edge of diffuser/bumper is open to the airflow and probably slows the car down!
Merc and BMW do exactly the same though, fins and spoilers sell cars.

Rear head space is excellent, the back seats fold so you simply remove your head and feet and put them in the enormous boot.
Seriously though, not great, but it replaced a Peugeot RCZ and it's better than that.
We've had 911's and an Evora and it's better than them too.
Must have been magic fun driving that is the US, the convertible would sort out the headroom too.

The convertible was great but noisy in the back.

We did over 3000 miles & it was a joy to drive.

Good choice. Good colour.

As expected, I had to crack open the wallet, it did 20mpg and cost 60 quid to fill, tank must be small, I'll have to be careful on the west coast.

I didn't set out to be a collector, the term conjures an image of a Hollywood type or an eccentric weirdo, I've certainly gone beyond what can be justified rationally.

As a Morgan owner, there has to be a certain amount of eccentricity! grin2

Ewn we met at Deeside festival of speed. We must think along similar lines as besides the M3W I have a year old Mustang GT fastback, manual, race red, black wheels. Plus a 1930 Sunbeam 16 tourer I've had for 41 years. Judging by registration the Stang was bought in Perth, got mine from McRae & Dick ( now Parks ) Inverness.
I'm averaging almost 25mpg from the Stang. I have no quibbles with build quality, paint perfect, even panel gaps. OK interior not built to same quality as Audi but properly put together. Peter J you missed out on the line lock with the AMG.

Do Mustang owners wave at each other when spotted out on the road?

I bet they do. Small numbers and niche market = waving I suspect.

There's a yellow one in Sheffield at Hallam Uni.

Well you're a dark horse Tim, I had you pegged as a quiet, reserved sort. It'd great if you could post up some pictures of your cars, red look great on a mustang. I meant to come out to the car park and see yours and Calum's cars, but there were to many distractions and I clean forgot.

Waving etiquette, I wave to all the following if I'm in an interesting car:
Morgan
Caterham
Lotus
Ferrari
Alfa Romeo, if it looks cared for.
Any classic or vintage
Anybody who waves first
My mum, but she never sees me.

Mustang would be on the list but I've never met one on the road.

I must say, it's great to see Yank V8s owned alongside Morgans - they make a great combo in my book!

It's not something I'd normally bother about, the morgan and caterham don't have one, but even the stereo is super sized in the Mustang. Gave some tunes the full 1000watts, it shakes the windows!

Thanks Tim, your linky didn't work, but I searched and found it, a super set of wheeled fun. I'd have the decals too if I had a 3wheeler, as you say, we have similar tastes. I take it you like hotel breakfasts and outdated pop music as well!😄

It's a good time of the year for taking pictures, in fact, I probably use my phone more for pictures than calls.
One concern I do have with this car, I nipped out of a junction yesterday at a swift but smooth pace and the rears were chirping on a good dry surface. This doesn't bode well for wet or icy conditions.

I invested in a set of Nokian WR A4 winter tyres. I also got a new set of wheels for them but you could just swap tyres over. I am pleased with the Nokians. Could not get any sense out of Ford or dealers regarding calibration of pressure sensors so got tyre supplier ( Tyre Devotion ) to supply & fit.

Sounds like the Plus 8......"interesting" on a cold wet road!

Also one of the reasons we got the AMG rather than the Mustang, the AMG us 4WD and so far I've not got the back end to move sideways...

Winter tyres, or all season, are a good idea, they're on the Subaru and the VW and make a huge difference. I don't feel you miss that much warm weather grip to bother changing them back on those cars, I just leave them on all year round.
It's not really a big problem, if the weather is rubbish, we use the VW anyway.

I've used the Ferrari in icy, wet conditions before and it's fine, but the margin for error is greatly reduced, somebody else's stupidity isn't so easily avoided.

I have some doubts about Nokian. They had a scandal a while back about supplying specially built tyres to testers. A bit like cheat programs that have been used on some cars to pass emissions tests. hide

We use the Michelin CrossClimate tyres on the Plus 4 and on the Polo. Just fantastic, particularly in the wet. I have 195/65 R15 fitted for the extra 10mm ground clearance.

Calum also has a rear CrossClimate on the 3 wheeler. His report "It simply works". Didn't seem to slow him down any at Caramulo smile

One thing to note however is that they are uni-directional. If you have a spare it may be best to fit a standard tyre to the spare wheel.

Last time I looked there were no all season tyres in Mustang sizes available in UK though you can order in USA.
I have a Nokian Allweather on rear of M3W & Nokian winter all round on previous car. They have a reputation for such rubber.
Callum did have Nokian Allweather on the rear.

Honestly though, I'll never get round to it, I have a forgiving and adaptable driving style, I could enjoy driving with two flat tyres and one sided brakes.

Maybe I should do some burn outs to waste the tyres we have!
