Usually on YT there's a battery explosion or something, but he was genuinely surprised and scared in equal measure when he pulled that trigger..!!

Can just see you doing a lap of Lake Como on that, Peter..!

He has a fine sense of humour and balance in equal measures, just perfect for middle England's Waitrose shoppers laugh2.

My only worry is that the hand-control looks rather like a Colt 1911 at first glance.....

Just got back from my latest trip to Tel Aviv where electric bikes are everywhere but becoming old hat. Rapidly replacing them are electric skate boards and , even more, electric scooters like overgrown versions of a child's "kick" scooter. Also saw several more mature Telavivians using electric three wheelers. The City has provided extensive cycle ways on the roads and along most of the leafy boulevards which the users stick to in a relatively ordered way ( I always find Israel a very disciplined country, except where driving is concerned).

Certainly my experience in Tel Aviv has altered my scepticism about personal e transport in cities. it does seem to integrate well and safely with pedestrians.. Can't say the same for motor traffic which is quite insane!

How do you think the weather in Tel Aviv contributes to this ?

I see a lot of these small electric things (bike, board etc) being really good in cities for top and tail of a train commute. Where the weather is fair and the roads have bike lanes it seems great for many reasons.

Where the London/Glasgow/Dublin weather has such a layer of drizzle and there is no cover on these devices it does change the benefit a bit.

Maybe I should just move to better weather.

You make a very good point about the weather! Didn't drop below 30 C during my stay and I've never been there during the wet months. Probably my dreams of an electric scooter would be tarnished a bit on a cold wet and windy December morning on the inside lane of the Leicester inner ring road.
