The Austrian Aeromax, which was once for sale for 229.000 euro's confused
is back on the market (no added mileage) for 198.000 (incl. taxes)

a few years ago the did anti-freez in their wine,
guess the guy selling (errr, NOT selling) emptied some of those bottles

Aeromax prices are dropping. There has been one advertised in the Sunday Times the last 3 weeks or so. This week the price dropped below the £100K mark frown

That is the car on SOR at SGT? If I am correct that is Richard Hammonds car and has had a colourful history. It has always been priced low and I believe deservedly so. I have not seen another advertised under the initial purchase price. A friend is looking to purchase a fine example and he hasn't been successful thus far.

Lucky bugger!!!

I am also aware of someone looking for an Aeromax (RHD) and I have actively spoken with him about the market - so am relatively knowledgeable about the cars up for sale at the moment.

Personally, I would say that the RH car is an anomaly. Setting aside the economic climate and time of year, I would also suggest that the owners vocal (he wrote about his accident in the Aeromax in Top Gear) and his financial position have influenced the asking price. Reference the prang, my understanding is that the car has been repaired and the front resprayed and that there is no reason to hold this against the car; however, public perception seems to have influenced the potential customers willingness to purchase it. The other factor with the RH car is that the interior leather and trim aren't going to appeal to a wide audience. A re trim is £5,000 and therefore, I believe this is being taken into account with the asking price. As it stands, if anyone is interested in an Aeromax and cannot pay the price of the other cars (all above original MSRP), surely this car has to be a good buy?

Now to counter that - I also believe that someone willing to spend £100,000 is willing to spend more for the right colour and option combination.

The chap I am aware of is looking at the Aeromax as a 'keeper' and therefore wants to buy the best example he can (colour combination and options) and is willing to pay the price and wait for the right car.

As it stands, there are currently 4 RHD cars on the market: -

The SGT - Richard Hammond - Reg-58 Aeromax - £105,995.00
http://www.sgt.co.uk/used_detail.asp?id=35085&type=Morgan&model=Aeromax

The one at RPM Morgan - Aeromax 49 - 7,500 miles - £118,500.00
http://www.rpm-morgan.co.uk/product.php?view=detail&item=30

Dick Lovett Prestige - Reg-59 Aeromax 10 - 3,600 miles - £119,990.00
http://www.dicklovett.co.uk/Dealers/Spec...9-16195541.html

And lastly, a private sale - March 2010 Reg - 5080-miles - £140,000.00

The 3 cars at dealers are all varying shades of dark gunmetal grey (two with red/berry leather) and the RH car with dark brown distressed leather. The private sale is a dark blue, almost black exterior with red leather.

Are we/you not all missing one vital piece of information? Hammonds car is manual. Whilst I generally prefer a manual to an auto on a fun car, a Max would have to be Auto for me.

A very good point Andy, it's not as though most AeroMax owners are going to be tracking their cars with any degree of commitment and the auto suits the Max's GT status imho. woohoo

A very fair point Andy.

I was attempting to remain impartial but I would agree with your sentiment that the sport-auto suits the character of the Aeromax perfectly.
