A compilation of all the best cars on BBC iplayer, channel Alba, Air an Rathad, episode 2.

The Gaelic is hard work, but the cars and scenery are good.

Do many people up there speak gaelic day to day?

Just curious. Down here in Wales, welsh never died out and thus didnt really need to be brought back to life in the same sort of nationalist zeal that the irish are applying to their language. As even more so in cornwall. Is scottish gaelic being revived in this way or was in daily use in large areas in the far north

I assume the M was maserati.

It’s very likely the hillclimb Morgan had been loaned to them by the Dealer in Perth, Revolutions. I’m surprised they didn’t show the gold Aero which appeared in an episode last year. That car was the demo car at Revolutions, https://www.revolutions.uk.com/stock/used/ Another excellent Morgan dealer and well worth a visit on your trips through Scotland.

Howard, the Gaelic language is rarely used on the east coast where I live, ( and where the yellow Porsche was filmed),but many in the west and the Highlands would be fluent. You’d be forgiven, however, for thinking we all use RP if you were to visit Ullapool, most shops seem to be owned by the accent-less.

BTW, the M was not a Maserati, it was the BMW M, I just didn’t bother with the BMW bit. Probably a touch of snobbery on my part, I like the real M cars, but feel the appeal has been diluted since they started slapping the badge on every dull diesel with oversized wheels.

laugh2 I'd agree about BeeEm Ms!

Pre-arranged visit to Russel back in 2011 when on the way south from a LeJog run. He was really helpful, had arranged nibbles etc. for us all and took great pleasure in showing us around, including the racing +8 smile
